Abstract

This paper addresses transmediation in the field of Latin American non-fiction – a model of production whose particularity is the distribution of content across various platforms of communicative scenes, which, although interconnected, have to deliver original contributions. We seek to explain why, even in a scenario of high technology, sophisticated tools, intense plataformization of everyday life and development of metaverses, this type of project is relating digital platforms to analog objects, territorial campaigns and face-to-face events – such as billboards, lectures, exhibitions, installations, walking tours and urban projections. Based on the methodology of bibliographic research, we identified three central arguments. The incorporation of the analog and its derivations: a) expands the narratives; b) accesses new audiences and c) builds unique experiences of consumption. In future works, the topic should also be investigated using other methodologies, such as direct observation of productions in progress and interviews with producers.
