Open Collaborative Innovation (ICA) is an intelligence process has been helping organizations in emerging economies such as Brazil and Colombia, as competing on an equal footing in the global market of goods and services requires a strategic approach. This article builds on the results of an international survey, in 2019, analyzing 21 Brazilian and Colombian in terms of their innovation processes anchored on communication processes, to establish the possible relations with ICTs and organizational culture. The results reveal expressive support of ICTs and the participative organizational culture, fostering a collaborative innovation environment. The results revealed that the majority of companies still fail to act directly on innovation processes, although two of them had established strategic partnerships that resulted in innovative and sustainable solutions to the benefit of the business and society. The article introduces those two positive experiences.
